WikiClimate is a windmill: a climate change encyclopedia to which anyone can contribute, but also a much broader resource, inviting original content, original research, case studies, project write-ups, how-tos and more.

WikiClimate, despite being a real wiki and therefore open to all, starts from the simple presumptions that:

  • climate change is happening
  • human activity is significantly contributing to the process
  • there are ways in which we can act to curb climate change's most catastrophic effects

We at WikiClimate believe that climate change is the greatest challenge humanity has ever had to face. But we also believe that we are not powerless in the face of such a challenge, and that individuals, businesses, governments and social groups of all kinds and sizes have a part to play in meeting it.

For we see climate change less as a problem to be solved than as a great economic and social opportunity to be grasped, an opportunity even greater than the advent of the internet: a chance to remodel the world.
